Amazon recently tightened scrutiny on AI-generated code pushes. Engineers were shipping functions they hadn’t thought through, and production was breaking in ways that review couldn’t catch.

The headlines wrote themselves: “AI writes bad code.” “Vibe coding fails.”

But the code wasn’t the problem. The code was fine.
